Have you even HEARD of Tōwai honey??
It’s not a kind that’s easy to find, and usually, it is blended into bush honey. This is from a batch put together from hand-picked honey frames harvested from hives situated near the Puketi forest in Northland.
Tōwai makes a very pleasant, sweeter variety of honey with a mild taste and lighter colour. This honey has been creamed but has maintained a very soft and light texture.
Tōwai honey is a lesser-known honey in New Zealand but it is similar to honey from the Kamahi tree that is common on the West Coast of the South Island.
